About us – Hi, we are Nikki and Danny and we are two people who have normal day-to-day jobs living near Manchester, United Kingdom, and who love to travel in our spare time.

Neither of us are full-time travellers we simply like to make the most of our time off from our jobs. We live with our Golden Retrievers and I have been a dog walker for the past 10 years so we typically don’t travel for any longer than 2 weeks at a time. Our European city breaks last no longer than 2-3 days if just visiting one city.

Our travelling journey started off during our early 20s (2010) and our passion for visiting new places just grew and grew. We are huge city break fans and have travelled across many European cities from Brussels to Bucharest and Stockholm to Sofia. In addition, we have travelled through cities in Asia such as Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai and Beijing. We have also enjoyed road tripping across the USA and Canada. Our travels have also taken us further afield to Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and a number of the Caribbean Islands.

Things changed for us in September 2019 when I found out I was pregnant. That got us thinking would we be able to carry on travelling as we had done previously? As something so enjoyable to us we developed a ‘nothing will stop us’ attitude and devised ways to continue to travel the world and show our son the amazing sights that we have been lucky enough to see ourselves.

Our son Teddy was born in June 2020 during covid. We took him on his first trip in October of that year to Gibraltar, we had an amazing first holiday with him. Covid then halted our travel plans for the rest of that year and the first half of 2021 as we were thrown back into lockdown. We resumed travelling to Jersey in the summer of 2021. Since that trip, we have fortunately been able to ramp up our trips, meaning that the year before Teddy turned 2 he had visited Gibraltar, Jersey, Zurich, Vaduz, Vilnius, Orlando and Paphos.

As you can see a few of those are not your typical family holiday beach destinations. They are city breaks which may not automatically stand out as places to take a toddler however, they were great trips and it made us realise that you can have amazing experiences with young children in parts of the world you may never have considered…..

We have set up this website in the hope that it can inspire people with young children who want to travel and are maybe looking to visit somewhere just that little bit different. Please have a look through this site to see my top tips for travelling with a child. Also packing lists and essentials to take with you, and a guide to the destinations that we have travelled to, details of how we travelled, where we stayed and the activities that we enjoyed!
